PRINCE Harry has been confirmed as Prince William’s choice for best man at his April 29 wedding to Kate Middleton.<\/p>\n
Philippa Middleton – the sister of 29-year-old bride-to-be Kate – will act as maid of honor at the wedding, Clarence House confirmed.<\/p>\n
The roles were announced Monday via Clarence House’s Twitter page.<\/p>\n
“Prince William and Miss Catherine Middleton have announced the Maid of Honour, Bridesmaids, Best Man and Page Boys for their wedding,” the first Twitter post read.<\/p>\n
Other roles announced included Middleton’s four bridesmaids and William’s two page boys.<\/p>\n
Middleton’s bridesmaids will be seven-year-old Lady Louise Windsor, three-year-old Grace van Cutsem, three-year-old Eliza Lopes and the Hon. Margarita Armstrong-Jones, eight.<\/p>\n
Prince William’s page boys will be 10-year-old William Lowther-Pinkerton and Tom Pettifer, eight.<\/p>\n
The prince is godfather to van Cutsem and Pettifer.<\/p>\n
Details about the bridesmaids’ dresses and page boys’ uniforms will be made available on the wedding day, Clarence House said.<\/p>\n
The couple is due to wed at 11am local time April 29 at Westminster Abbey, in central London.<\/p>\n
Ms Middleton will travel to Westminster Abbey by car, and after the service the happy couple, will travel to Buckingham Palace in a horse-drawn carriage for a reception.<\/p>\n
The couple will be married by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams.<\/p>\n
Separately, it was announced that the couple, who met while studying at the University of St Andrews, would return to the Scottish college on Friday to launch its 600th anniversary celebrations.<\/p>\n
The visit will be William’s first in his role as patron of the anniversary appeal and the couple’s first official engagement in Scotland.<\/p>\n
“I am delighted that Prince William has agreed to be patron of our 600th Anniversary Appeal,” said Principal and Vice Chancellor Professor Louise Richardson.<\/p>\n
“We hope that Prince William and Miss Middleton are the first among many who will reconnect with St Andrews and join in the celebrations.”<\/p>\n
The infamous dress worn there by Middleton during a university charity fashion show was also being put up for auction by its designer next month, just a few blocks from the royal couple’s future home of Buckingham Palace.<\/p>\n
