WITH only weeks to go before the big day, some brides might be subjecting themselves to strict diets or detoxes – but not Kate Middleton.
The future Princess regularly pops into her local shop buy sweet treats and chips, eating her way through two large packets of lollies a week, according to the store’s owner Hash Shingadia.
The 28-year-old picks up big bags of mixed jellies twice a week when she is visiting her home village of Bucklebury in Berkshire Mr Shingadia told the Daily Mail.
Middleton and her royal fiancé also like snacking on corn chips he said.
“Prince William buys newspapers when he pops in, I can’t recall which, and he loves his mint Vienetta, Doritos crisps and Tropicana orange juice. They’re both really normal and lovely.”
“Kate mentioned last Sunday that she is getting a little nervous about the wedding,” Mr Shingadia, who has been invited to the wedding along with his wife, said.
“She came in with her mother and bought some Haribos [lollies]. She also bought French bread, ham, salami, cream and eggs and her favourite magazines, Hello!, Tatler and Elle. She’s a normal girl.”
News of her junk food habit might come as a surprise after Middleton was criticised for being too skinny last week when she stepped out in figure-hugging trench coat on an official trip to Belfast. Commentators were quick to raise the alarm about Middleton’s health, pointing out she had started looking thinner as the clock ticks down to the couple’s April 29 wedding.
